FOND DU LAC - A legend in Fond du Lac’s theater community has exited, stage right, at the age of 89, but he leaves behind a legacy of memorable performances.
George Bud Caldwell died Saturday at his home in Fond du Lac.
According to his obituary, Caldwell worked in the printing industry for 36 years as a pressman, shop owner and in regional sales.
But he was best known for his many memorable performances that spanned 50 years with Fond du Lac Community Theater.
His venture into the theater world began in the 1960s, when he was cast as El Gallo in a performance of “The Fantasticks.”
