Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Mariam Mkrtchyan, amember of the Armenian women s chess team, winner of the world and European U-18 championships, and her coach Zaven Andriasian. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan and Deputy Minister of Education Karen Giloyan also attended the meeting, ARMENPRESS was infomred from the Office of the Prime Minister.
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today met with Mariam Mkrtchyan, who won the Girls U18 World Youth Championship in September, and used the occasion to promote his government’s stated aim to win the world chess championship by 2025.
The Russian Chess Federation sent no less than 73 participants to the European Youth Championship in Antalya, who all had to play under the flag of FIDE - and they won more medals than the other federations.
