JACKSON CO., Ore. Following Governor Kate Brown’s announcement of the state re-opening this Tuesday or Wednesday, locals are preparing to go back to pre-pandemic life.
As the vaccination clinic at the expo wraps up, Jackson County Public Health officials want people to know that vaccines aren’t just going to disappear.
In fact, they’ll be available at the Jackson County Public Health Clinic for free and they encourage people to come down.
“COVID remains a significant public health issue and public health is supported and funded by various sources,” said Jackson County Public Health Officer, Dr. Jim Shames. He says COVID-19 vaccines will still be readily available for people even after the state re-opens.
UPPER ROGUE AREA, Ore. Locals didn’t have to go to our mountain lakes to cool off this weekend, the Upper Rogue River proved to be a popular spot.
Fishing boats, rafts, pontoon boats, kayaks and paddle boards are all selling out or getting reserved way in advance as people try to beat the heat.
“Boat rentals out here have definitely been increasing since the weather has gotten warmer,” said Operations Supervisor for Jackson County Parks, Andrew Austill. He says the demand for rental boats has driven Jackson County Parks to purchase additional pontoon boats to rent out.
“Pontoons are the most popular thing and we’re still waiting on a couple more we just purchased, so once those come in we’ll have 4 boats that people can use.”
She told us this week she done with ‘fire country’.
“We just… I was already a wreck every time the wind blows, every time there’s a fire – which has been more and more, I mean, it’s what? June?”
Reid says funds from the products which include honey, pickles, and jams – will help her and her business partner move to Virginia, where they’ll rebuild their farm.
“We’re determined to come back stronger than ever, that’s what we said the last time after we did and that’s what we’re going to do again,” she said.
