Louisville Metro Government has a blueprint to bring more visitors back into the city s downtown business district.
The Downtown Revitalization Team, a group of regional stakeholders tapped earlier this year to work on a strategy to help the region bounce back from a tumultuous 2020, presented its plan Tuesday to Mayor Greg Fischer and other city officials, with an emphasis on new affordable and accessible events, support for Black businesses and visitors along with an investment in the area s safety and maintenance.
The plan, Fischer said in a statement, will keep Louisville on its path to build back better together after downtown was emptied out by COVID-19 last spring and then gripped for months by protests over the police killing of Breonna Taylor.
