A man accused of fatally stabbing his mother and 6-year-old nephew last month was in custody Thursday, with bail set at $5.02 million, Los Angeles police reported Thursday night.
David Cordoba, 26, was taken into custody about 10 p.m. Wednesday at Third and Berendo streets, near Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Details are still emerging about the disturbing discovery. Darsha Philips reported on NBC4 News on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020.
Cordoba is accused of killing 60-year-old Maria Rodas-Lemus and Alan Cordova-Robles during a family dispute on Dec. 21.
He was set to be arraigned Frida after being charged with murder, and attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his brother.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities today issued a renewed call for the public to help locate a man accused of killing his mother and 6-year-old nephew in a Westlake district apartment.
Officers found the bodies at 10:25 p.m. on Dec. 21 when they went to the 1800 block of West 11th Place, near Alvarado Street and Olympic Boulevard, on a requested welfare check, the LAPD said.
The Los Angeles County coroner s office identified the victims as Maria Rodas-Lemus, 60, and Alan Cordova-Robles, 6, both of Los Angeles. The woman was the boy s grandmother.
Police said Cordoba stabbed his mother and nephew during a dispute.Cordoba also stabbed a third family member, who was taken to a hospital, according to police. That victim s condition was not available.

Authorities Wednesday released the name of the man accused of killing his mother and 6-year-old nephew in a Pico-Union apartment.
Officers found the bodies when they went to the 1800 block of West 11th Place, near Alvarado Street and Olympic Boulevard, at 10:25 p.m. Monday on a requested welfare check, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
