NAY PYI TAW, Myanmar (eTN) – Glyzelle Palomar, a 12-year-old girl from Manila, caught the attention of the world last week during Pope Francis’ visit to the Philippine capital when she wept and asked the pope, “How could God allow children to become prostitutes?”
Pope Francis responded to the girl’s weeping by hugging her and gave an abstract answer to her question. “She is the only who has put a question for which there is no answer. And she wasn’t able to express it in words but rather in tears,” the pope was quoted as saying.
