Dr. Maria Gallo, President of Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa., has been named the 20th Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin–River Falls.
Dr. Maria Gallo, president of Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa., has been named the University of WisconsinâRiver Falls 20th chancellor.
The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents unanimously approved Galloâs appointment, following a recommendation made by a selection committee. Gallo will assume the leadership post on July 15, 2021.
Gallo, a Fulbright Scholar and a fellow of the American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America, has been president of Delaware Valley University since July 1, 2016. Under her leadership, the university announced its first endowed professorship, increased student retention and grew its hydroponics and aquaponics education program.

Three alumni – Phil Luccarelli ’83, Jeff Marshall ’00, and Hakim Richard Savoy ’90 – have been named to Delaware Valley University’s Board of Trustees recently.
“We are proud to welcome three alumni who have achieved a great deal of success in their fields to the University’s Board,” said DelVal President Dr. Maria Gallo. “Phil, Jeff, and Hakim will provide valuable insight as we pursue DelVal’s strategic goals. I know the knowledge and experience they will bring to DelVal’s Board will have a positive impact on the University and our students.”
University of Wisconsin System President Tommy Thompson announced five finalists for the position Monday.
An 11-member Search and Screen Committee, led by Regent Scott Beightol, chair, and Professor of Dairy Science Sylvia Kehoe, vice chair, recommended a list of finalists. The Special Regent Committee determined that the following finalists will continue in the selection process.
