A Richmond charity has brought together care home residents and nursery school children to celebrate Christmas in a pandemic-safe way. Members of St Margaret’s Montessori nursery and Nightingale Care Home met at a festive party last Friday (Dec 4) – where they were separated by a window. Over the past 12 weeks the groups have participated in weekly Zoom sessions, as part of charity Brighter Together’s intergenerational bonding programme. Since its launch in 2019, the charity has hosted regular meetings between different generations, which involve games, singing, activities and sharing stories. Brighter Together says forging connections, especially over various over lockdowns, has provided joy, entertainment, stimulation, and purpose for all ages.
