Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday inaugurated the 40-foot height new wooden chariot of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami temple by pulling it on the temple campus here in East Godavari district. With this, the ten-day annual Kalyanotsav has commenced at the temple.

YSRC-supported candidates bag majority of GPs

A  majority of the grama panchayats were grabbed by YSRC supporters. In this phase, elections were held to 235 grama panachayats, of which YSRC-supporters bagged 167 GPs. Some of these winners were party rebels. Telugu Desam won 36, the Jana Sena 14 and Independents 12 GPs.

On Monday, Mr. Bharat held a meeting to chalk out a plan to prepare the proposal that would also aim at designing the outer ring road in such a way that it would save 25 km of travelling between Rajamahendravaram and Kakinada. The meeting was attended by the officials from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) and Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation.
