Chief Inspector John Gloag of Barrow Police presented the happy boys and girls with their proficiency certificate and badges at a ceremony at the school just before the end of the term. At the end of training course all the members gathered together to take a group picture to remember the occasion. In 1997, a new playground was opened at the school in October.
