Romania s anti-trust body to consider deal for Credit Agricole Romania

BUCHAREST (Romania), March 3 (SeeNews) – Romania s competition authority said that it will analyse the proposed takeover of Credit Agricole Romania by Vista Bank Romania.
In order to determine whether the concentration is compatible with the normal competitive environment, the Competition Council will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation, the anti-trust body said in a statement on Tuesday.
Both Vista Bank Romania and Crédit Agricole Bank Romania are credit institutions which offer a wide range of banking services for individuals and legal entities, the council added.
French banking group Credit Agricole signed an agreement to sell its Romanian subsidiary to Vista Bank Romania on January 4.
