The initial payment deadline for eligibility to more than 157 stakes events at 14 different tracks, headlined by the $1 million USD Hambletonian at The Meadowlands on Aug. 3 and the $7 million USD Breeders Crown events on Oct. 25 and 26, is fast approaching.
On Friday, Jan. 19, Woodbine Entertainment released the schedule for its lucrative 2024 Standardbred stakes season at Woodbine Mohawk Park, featuring three $1 million races for the first time since 2012.
Last weekend, the Breeders Crown Championships were contested at Harrah's Hoosier Park, with 12 races offering a total of more than $7 million in prize money. Ten harness racing horses were entered per event, and from those 120 named, there was only one scratch, meaning that 119 horses went post ward at the Anderson, Indiana
Jiggy Jog S, the 1-9 favourite, cruised to a track-record clocking of 1:51.1 in the $400,000 Breeders Crown Mare Trot on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
