Troopers said Deryck R. Barker, 45, of Utica, was eastbound in the passing lane on Route 49 in Marcy at about 4:25 p.m. when his 2021 Jeep Wrangler went off the pavement and struck a guide rail. Troopers said the Jeep spun around, rolled over and caught on fire when it came to rest.
