The newly elected supervisor and trustee participated in their first Cato Township Board meeting on Monday after ousting the incumbent supervisor and a trustee in last week’s recall election. Clerk Todd Lincoln, who retained his seat despite being challenged in the recall, swore in Brandi Clark-Hubbard as the new supervisor and Marcy Myers as a new trustee at Monday evening’s township board meeting. Clark-Hubbard ousted longtime supervisor Larry Gilbert, while Myers ousted longtime trustee Jourdan Lindsey.
As many are aware, Cato Township has a special election coming up on May 2. We have the opportunity to make a change and bring in a new supervisor, clerk and trustee. The township is in need of transparency, honesty, and organization.
Three members of the Cato Township Board are facing a recall attempt in a special election one week from today. Supervisor Larry Gilbert is being challenged by Brandi Clark-Hubbard, Clerk Todd Lincoln is being challenged by Genevieve “Genny” Towne and Trustee Jourdan Lindsey is being challenged by Marcia “Marcy” Myers in a recall election driven in part by the three township board members' votes on a wind energy ordinance last August, among other factors.
