PARIS, June 29 (Xinhua) French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi on Tuesday announced a 400-million-euro (476 million U.S. dollars) annual investment plan to bolster end-to-end research and development of next generation mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) vaccines and produce at least six vaccine candidates by 2025. In a press release, Sanofi said the investment will be fully financed through resource reallocation. The French drug maker said that its first-of-its kind vaccines mRNA Center of Excellence will work to accelerate the development and delivery of next-generation vaccines by bringing together about 400 dedicated employees across sites at Cambridge in the United States and Marcy-l Etoile in Lyon, southeast France.
