A 16-year-old suburban Indianapolis boy charged as an adult in another teen’s fatal shooting has been sentenced to more than two years in prison after pleading guilty to criminal recklessness and a weapons charge.

FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) A 16-year-old suburban Indianapolis boy charged as an adult in another teen’s fatal shooting has been sentenced to more than two years in prison after pleading guilty to criminal recklessness and a weapons charge.
A Johnson County judge sentenced Marcus Salatin on Friday to 825 days at a juvenile detention facility on the criminal recklessness charge, and 180 days to be served concurrently on a charge of carrying a handgun without a license.

In multiple selfie Snapchat videos, Salatin showed firearms flaunted or
shown in an intimidating manner, Johnson County Prosecutor Joseph Villanueva said. Weeks before the incident, Salatin was looking to sell oxycontin pills as well, according to Snapchat messages, the prosecutor said.
He argued that the shooting wasn t a spur of the moment decision and that the gun used to kill Davis was illegally obtained by the defendant.” Based on his social media, Salatin showed “unhealthy infatuation with guns, Villanueva said.
One of Salatin s defense attorneys, Carrie Miles, also highlighted numerous videos from the people in the car the night of the shooting.
