be weekend of fun. a family get together to celebrate isaiah s sixth birthday. but harriot roberts knew something wasn t right when she started to get sick. started out with a headache. and the headache, it went to i was shaking a lot. i felt dizzy. and then i got nausea and started vomiting. reporter: and then the kids started complaining of feeling tired and dizzy. they started out on the floor, on the sofa, started going to sleep. my husband and i, we stayed up. but i started getting more and more violently ill. and that s when the detector went off. reporter: it turns out high levels of carbon monoxide were making them ill, the leak coming from a faulty water heater. harriet, her husband, and seven kids ranging from 18 months to nine years old were rushed to the hospital. i felt real light helded and was getting ready to faint, but i couldn t allow myself the faint because i had the kids, because i had to keep going to the ambulance, checking on them. report
