Hays County: What you need to know about travel, schools, cold weather resources As winter weather conditions have worsened, Hays County officials are urging residents to stay off the roads, but provided tips and resources for those who cannot.  In a new release Sunday, Hays County Sheriff officials said they have been receiving reports of stranded motorists who cannot be reached by either fire, EMS, or deputies due to the hazardous roadways. Every effort is being made to reach the motorists but, in some cases, it may be impossible due to the ice on the roadway.  Resident who must drive due to extenuating circumstances and become stranded, Hays County dispatch will be asking the following questions:

SAN MARCOS (KUSI) – It’s the start of the new year and the City of San Marcos has many initiatives on the horizon. San Marcos Mayor, Rebecca Jones, joined Good Morning San Diego to discuss what residents can expect in 2021. The 206 bed Kaiser Permanente Hospital is well underway, slated to open in early 2023, serving north county’s 180,000 members and bringing 500 new jobs to San Marcos The San Marcos Creek Infrastructure project is moving along with completion in the first half of 2022 The Discovery Road extension from Craven Road to Twin Oaks Valley Road will be starting construction Area-of-the-Arts will be making progress, a project that will one day transform nine acres of vacant land at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Linda Vista Drive into a thriving village anchored by arts, makers, craft brewers and distillers and an interactive park. The project is from LAB Holdings, the developers of the Anaheim Packing District and the LAB Anti-Mall in Costa Mesa.
