Warsaw court officials told PAP on Thursday that Katarzyna Augustynek has already faced five charges and six indictments this year alone. The charges include resisting police restraint and assaulting police officers, one of whom she was alleged to have attacked with a flagpole. Two outbreaks of Indian Covid mutation reported in Poland - minister

Marcin Obara/PAP Poland s health minister said on Tuesday that there have been two outbreaks of a Covid-19 mutation first identified in India. Adam Niedzielski said 16 cases had been detected around the capital Warsaw and Katowice in southern Poland. He said new variants represented a threat and may cause further waves of the disease. He added that people arriving in Poland from India, South Africa and Brazil will have to go into quarantine. The minister added that the main task currently was to build an effective mechanism for tracking Covid-19 mutations and that a special team had been set up at the Ministry of Health for that purpose.
