According to information published by the InfoDefensa website on March 7, 2021, the Brazilian army has launched a request for information to modernize its fleet of EE-9 Cascavel 6x6 armored vehicles. The program foresees the modernization of 98 to 201 vehicles for a period of eight years.

The main goal of this modernization is to equip the EE-9 Cascavel of the Brazilian army with new a firing control system, a ballistic computer, implementation of an electrical turret rotation system that can be controlled by the commander. This upgrade will not include new armor for the vehicle.
The Indian Army has started training of Turkmenistan Special Forces in combat and free fall as a precursor to a series of customized courses to follow and help build capability of the Turkmenistan Special Forces.

Economists and fiscal experts expect the world s second-largest economy to taper spending at large in 2021 on a tightening budget though, after a record 3.6 percent budget deficit target for coronavirus-inflicted 2020, Global Times reports. Several military experts reached by the Global Times a week prior to the expected release of the figure predicted a growth rate of around 7 percent.
