Three First Nations in northeastern Ontario have shared more than $875,000 in federal funding to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The money has been used for a variety of measures, such as supporting Elders and vulnerable community members, improving food security, offering mental health support services, providing emergency response services and more. The Indigenous Community Support Fund was designed to give Indigenous leadership the flexibility they need to safeguard their communities.
