A jury is deliberating in the inquest into the death of Hamilton teen Quinn MacDougall, and will report back with recommendations of how authorities can avoid similar deaths.
A Hamilton police officer cried as she described Monday what transpired the moments after 19-year-old Quinn MacDougall was fatally shot outside his townhouse complex in April, 2018. It is the second week of the inquest into his death.
Det. Const. Marcello Filice said he saw "desperation" in Quinn MacDougall's eyes as the 19-year-old ran toward his unmarked police SUV with a knife in his hand. A short time later, the teen who had called police for help was dead.
