This was revealed today by Minister of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Kerrie Symmonds, who said close to $2.5 million of that was severance payments. Symmonds disclosed the details after Opposition Leader Reverend Joseph Atherley raised some questions related to the operations of Harrison’s Cave during debate in Parliament on the Grantley Adams International Airport (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The minister said only three members of staff did not qualify for severance due to the length of their service.

Cave to reopen minus upgrades

Harrison’s Cave reopens to the public on July 2, but it may be some time before visitors can enjoy the exciting new features promised by its new operators. The Jamaica-based company Chukka Caribbean Adventures began managing operations of the St Thomas attraction from December 1 last year.
