Chief Davis is the Association’s First Black President
Chief Mitchell R. Davis III, chief of police of the Hazel Crest Police Department, was installed Friday, April 30, 2021, as president of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. The ceremony occurred at Homewood-Flossmoor High School with family members and other chiefs from the south suburbs as special guests. Attendance was limited due to the pandemic.

LEMONT, IL Lemont Police Chief Marc Maton was presented the 2020 Chief of the Year award from the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police at a recent ceremony, after it had been delayed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Maton was given the recognition in 2020 for excelling in his department and providing extraordinary service to the association, according to the association s website.

LEMONT, IL Several Lemont residents on social media groups have questioned the purpose of the recent installation of cameras at intersections and streets around town. The cameras are part of the village s automated license plate reader system, Chief Marc Maton said at the April 12 village board meeting. We ve gotten some calls in for [the cameras], Maton said, adding that he has discussed the system at village board meetings in the past.
The system was procured through donations from private corporations, Maton said.
