GambleAware sets out plans for BGC member funding commitments 14th January 2021 | By Robert Fletcher British gambling charity GambleAware has revealed further details of funding commitments from four leading members of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) and how this will be used to support its ongoing work. Bet365, Entain, Flutter Entertainment and William Hill in June last year said they would commit £100m (€112.2m/$136.4m) to improving treatment services for problem gamblers in Britain. At the time, it was agreed GambleAware would serve as the main commissioning agent for ensuring that the funds reach people who require the counselling and treatment.

Since 2018, Osmond has led the delivery of GambleAware’s safer gambling and treatment campaigns, and has worked with stakeholders in public health, government, media, academia and the industry to ensure campaign success.

GambleAware appoints ‘proven talent’ Zoë Osmond as new CEO Share Zoë Osmond will be promoted as new CEO of the gambling harm-prevention charity.  Osmond, who currently serves as GambleAware’s Communications and Engagement Director, will replace incumbent Marc Etches, whose tenure as CEO finishes in March. GambleAware highlighted Osmond’s outstanding results in spearheading the charity’s multi-million pound safer gambling and treatment campaigns, expanding the charity’s support network across the UK. Furthermore, Osmond was branded as the optimal candidate to lead GambleAware having successfully promoted the treatment and behavioural complexities of problem gambling to government, media, academia and wider business stakeholders.
