After losing job to pandemic, art helps Bradenton woman find an outlet

SARASOTA, Fla. - Like millions of other Americans, Lisa DiFranza lost her job when the pandemic hit in March 2020. She was the cultural curator at Art Ovation Hotel in downtown Sarasota.
Lisa said getting laid off wasn t surprising. Being in the arts, you always know that you’re going to be one of the first to get cut, no matter what environment you’re in, she said with a laugh.
But she admits it was jarring. Because then what? she said. You know I m used to working and having that paycheck come in.
