IN the first round of our candidate profiles ahead of next month’s county council elections, today we are taking a closer look at Worcester’s Bedwardine division. The largely affluent part of the city has proved a happy hunting ground for the county’s Conservatives with comfortable wins in recent years including at the last election in 2016 where the party picked up more than half of the vote. Conservatives have continuously fared well in Bedwardine with current candidate Alan Amos, who has also represented the area on Worcester City Council and has served as cabinet member for highways for the last four years, hoping for re-election in a division he achieved 53 per cent of the vote in last time out - more than 650 votes ahead of Labour.
