A KwaZulu-Natal man has been charged with murder after he allegedly struck his mother with an axe on the back of the head.
Murder suspect Loyiso Ngcobo, 28, appeared in the Maphumulo Magistrate s Court on Monday.
He was remanded in police custody until 5 May, when he will appear in the Nsuze Magistrate s Court for a bail application.
Ngcobo allegedly attacked his mother last Thursday, 22 April, in the Nomhele area, Bhamshela, in Nsuze.
