Tech giant Google suspended Talking, the US-based free speech-focused microblogging platform from its App Store on Tuesday, citing articles inciting violence and demanding “robust” moderation, the same day as Twitter permanently suspended the account of US President Donald Trump. The incident came on the backs of protesters, supporting Trump, storming the U.S. Capitol a few days ago. Speaking had seen a wave of Trump supporters, and there were reports that Trump himself might be setting up his base there, as all the major social media companies have launched some sort of purge of their systems. Google was not the only one to press Parler to initiate content moderation. Apple also warned the company that it would ban the service from its App Store.
