SUVA, 16 MARCH 2021 (ABC) – The acting chief executive of the National Rugby League in Fiji has moved to clarify his comments on the possible formation of a combined Pacific Islands team.
Don Natabe says he is keen to talk to the NRL about assembling a Pacific indigenous team that would compete once a year, just as the Australian Indigenous All-Stars and Maori All-Stars do now.
Both those sides are made up of current NRL players, and he says a Pacific team would be chosen in the same way.
