Indrajit Gunasekara had never seen trimmed coconut palms until he moved to Hawaii in 2004. As he walked along the beaches in Waikiki, he didn’t recognize them at first.
“I have never seen that before in my life. It did not look like the natural tree,” Gunasekara said.
