Three Months after the Riot, the Wistron Plant in India Finally resumes Production
In early February Patently Apple posted a report titled Apple s Manufacturing Partner Wistron is Preparing to Reopen their Indian Plant after Riots closed the Facility for 8 weeks. Today a report out of Taiwan states that Indian media reported that the plant has obtained all necessary approvals and has officially resumed work.
United Daily News reports that Indian media reported that the local Minister of Industry, Jagadish Shettar, stated that Wistron had resumed production at the factory in accordance with relevant licensing conditions. In the future, relevant departments will pay attention to labor issues so as to avoid a similar incident from happening again.
