About 60 refugees and asylum seekers detained for more than a year in a hotel in Melbourneâs northern suburbs have been taken under heavy police guard to Park Hotel Melbourne on Swanston Street, a former COVID-19 quarantine hotel.
Hundreds of Victoria Police, including dozens of mounted police, quashed angry protests outside the Mantra in Melbourne s north on Thursday as the men were taken from the hotel.
