KOTA KINABALU (April 14): Sabah is the first state to implement the EPF contribution program for Malaysia Games (Sukma) and the state’s Para-Sukma athletes.
The Sabah State Government through the Sabah Youth and Sports Ministry (KBSS) has contributed a RM400,000 fund to the programme.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor launched the Sabah Youth Entrepreneur Jaya Scheme (Syabas) portal at Menara Kinabalu, Tuesday.
Syabas is the State Government’s new initiative introduced in the 2022 Budget to drive economic development and strengthen the potential of Sabah’s youths.
The programme is an initiative pioneered by Hajiji through the aspirations voiced by the younger generation to help the youths of Sabah develop existing businesses or start new businesses. The State Government allocated RM10 million for the Syabas programme to provide financial assistance to Sabah’s youth entrepreneurs.
Among the objectives of the Syabas programme is to help youths start a business after losing their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic, help youth entrepreneurs who have products to develop business operations and help build youth entrepreneurs to build an international network through export/import business activities to sustain the youths&rsq
