View Comments MANSFIELD - Four pumps made in Mansfield are now operating the city s largest municipal collection system lift station that handles 60% of Mansfield s wastewater flow. The City of Mansfield Thursday morning celebrated a ribbon cutting with Gorman-Rupp Co. officials and others at the city s newly rehabilitated lift station at 480 Park Avenue East. The station is one of a total of 16 wastewater lift stations in the Mansfield, and the lift station at 480 Park Avenue East is the largest by far, City Engineer Bob Bianci said. This makes No. 10 as being a Gorman-Rupp lift station, Bianci added. Pumps up to 51 million gallons a day

Kidnapping charge filed against missing woman s ex-boyfriend

Her sister, Lisa Davis, earlier said Melinda, who resides in Shelby, was going to Mack s house on Cliffside Drive in Mansfield Thursday morning to retrieve some items Mack had that once belonged to their brother Jason Davis, who died three years ago. According to a news release from the Richland County Sheriff s Office Monday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit obtained a search warrant for Mack s residence. The Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation was called to process the scene. Based on the investigation and collection and processing of evidence, and after consulting with the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mack on a charge of kidnapping, the sheriff s office said Monday.

Shelby police seek public s help finding missing woman Mansfield News Journal SHELBY - The Shelby Police Department is continuing to investigate the disappearance of Melinda Kay (Clark) Davis, who was reported missing at 12:36 p.m. Thursday. By midday Friday, Davis was still missing, authorities said. Shelby police Chief Lance Coombs said in a news release Friday morning:  We are working diligently with our local, county, state and federal law enforcement partners to determine her whereabouts. We have not yet located either her vehicle or the person we believe that she went to visit. Davis was last seen near Shelby High School around 7:20 a.m. Thursday, driving her black 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, with Ohio plates JGZ8921, and was believed to be headed to Mansfield to make contact with her ex-boyfriend, John Henry Mack, according to an initial news release from Combs.

Robber claims he placed bomb in Mansfield Stop & Shop; no explosive found, search for suspect under way Wicked Local MANSFIELD- A man walked into Stop & Shop in Mansfield Thursday afternoon, Dec. 16, and approached the Citizens Bank counter saying this was a robbery and he had placed explosives in the building, according to Mansfield police. Responding officers quickly evacuated the Copeland Drive plaza and began a search for the alleged bomb as well as the suspect. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money by the bank employees, Police Chief Ron Sellon said. He then left the building. The state explosive ordnance disposal unit and the town’s own K9 unit of Officer Michael Fitzgerald and Ronan searched the building and found no explosives, Sellon said.
