The additional officers will help them closer to the goal of 2 officers per 1,000 but some group says they dont believe metro needs the money because of the previous cops tax. The measured rate is up and so are Violent Crimes in general, which means clark county commissioners will vote positively for more cops tax. Raising sales tax by 1 10 of a percentage point. Increasing their funding we havent done that. The new tax but one conservative watchdog has strong reservations. According to the research only 325 officers have been gained since the last more cops tax was imposed back in 2005. Thats about one officer per 2 million collected.
