ORFORD The Wildcats of White River Valley School finally hit the hardwood on Monday night.
After a delayed start for all of Vermont, the Wildcats had to wait a little longer due to a case of COVID-19 in the school. But at Rivendell on Monday, White River Valley earned a 59-44 season-opening victory in a VPA Division IV showdown.
The two teams clashed in last season’s quarterfinals with the Raptors advancing. The Wildcats pulled out the win this time, however, thanks to game-high 22 points from Carder Stratton. Weston Trombly had 13 more.
