Kidnap of Ujire boy: Mastermind and boy’s father were partners in bitcoin business News Network December 23, 2020 Mangaluru, Dec 23: The mastermind behind the recent kidnap of an 8-year-old boy from Ujire in Dakshina Kannada district, was a former partner of the boy’s father, according police. The boy was traced in a house in Koormahosahalli in Malur taluk in Kolar district within two days after he was kidnapped from near his house on December 17. The kidnappers, who were finally arrested by the police, had initially placed a demand for 100 Bitcoins (Rs 17 crore). The ransom for ensuring the safe release of boys was later reduced to Rs 10 crore and Rs 25 lakh.

Any celebration that involves mass gatherings will not be allowed. This includes a celebration ban on pubs, clubs, restaurants and other crowded places. However, they can continue their regular operations. The Karnataka Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar issued an order, earlier last week. “Keeping in mind public health, there is a need to celebrate Christmas and New Year in a simple and meaningful way. In the wake of this, mass parties have been banned across the state at public places, establishments and places where large crowds gather without maintaining social distancing,” read the order.

Celebrations at pubs and restaurants have also been banned, said Prasad. Meanwhile, Dr. K Sudhakar, Karnataka Health Minister said, during New Year celebrations people congregate in large numbers in public places in Bengaluru and other urban areas.

Clubs/pubs and restaurants cannot host parties but can open for dining in limited numbers.”
