Paul Alexandre and his son eight-year-old Julien pose for a photo outside their Brandon home on Sunday morning. Alexandre recently told the Sun that he hopes that a new francophone school is built in Brandon sooner rather than later, since his son, who currently attends École La Source in CFB Shilo, would greatly benefit from being educated a lot closer to home.
Education Minister Cliff Cullen turned some heads on Thursday when he announced that the province is allocating more than $24 million for seven future land acquisition projects, which includes a K-12 Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine school in Brandon.
