Ten Naga MLAs in Manipur have demanded the appointment of a new minister to look after tribal affairs and hill matters amid the disruption caused by the ethnic violence in the state bordering troubled Myanmar.
The illegal immigrants are being temporarily shifted to the Sadbhavna Mandap, Khominthang, New Lamka and Churachandpur for some days till the detention centre planned at Singngat sub-division is completed.
The people living in the hills should know that the present government gives priority to bring welfare for the people in order to bring a good society not by authoritarian means, Manipur Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Letpao Haokip said.
