LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – Florida State scored three runs in the ninth inning – and the final seven runs of the game – to complete a 7-4 comeback victory over Louisville Friday night at Jim Patterson Stadium. Jackson Baumeister pitched a career-high 8.0 innings, and Brennen Oxford earned his first career save with a perfect ninth inning.
Louisville took the lead with a pair of home runs in the third inning – a leadoff home run from Logan Beard, and a three-run shot from JT Benson – to take the 4-0 lead.
FSU cut the lead in half with Williams’ single in the seventh inning, scoring Ben Barrett and McGwire Holbrook. Barrett led off the inning with a walk – FSU’s first of the game – and Holbrook pinch-hit and singled, his first pinch-hit of the season. Williams’ matched his career RBI high with the two-run single.
