Mysore/Mysuru: The State Government is seriously considering introduction of
Heli Tourism at four popular tourist destinations in Karnataka including Mysuru, Mangaluru and Hampi, said Minister for Tourism, Ecology and Environment C.P. Yogeeshwar.
He was speaking to presspersons at Columbia Asia Hospital Junction, on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway where he was accorded a warm reception by BJP workers upon his arrival this morning. This was the first visit of Yogeeshwar to Mysuru after he became a Minister last month.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the new building of Mysuru District unit of All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha at JSS Layout First Stage near Basaveshwara Circle on Dr. Rajkumar Road here yesterday.
Noting that Mysuru is a Punya Bhoomi known for its spirituality, Vijayendra, who is the son of Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa (BSY), heaped praises on the erstwhile Mysuru Maharajas for making Karnataka a prosperous State. Pointing out that Suttur Mutt is like Aramane-Gurumane, he said that Veerashaiva-Lingayat community has shaped itself as the protector of all sections of the society.

District Office Complex at Siddartha Layout on Bannur Road will soon house the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office. A meeting will be held with officials and district heads to move the present office to the new premises, said Mysuru District Minister S.T. Somashekar, who already has his office at the new Complex.
Interacting with reporters at Pathrakarthara Bhavan this morning, the Minister said that it was decided earlier that the office would be shifted after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. “Now that the contagion has considerably reduced, the process of shifting the office will begin soon and I will call for a meeting and decide,” he said.
Mysore/Mysuru: Ahead of next month’s State Budget, District Minister
S.T. Somashekar held a pre-budget meeting with BJP leaders at the party office in Chamarajapuram here on Monday.
Addressing the meeting, Somashekar said that he has received 15 suggestions so far, which chiefly included formation of a Dasara Development Authority, comprehensive development of the city and district and tourism promotion measures.
Pointing out that all the suggestions and inputs received will be discussed with the Chief Minister ahead of the budget, Somashekar said that a preliminary budget meeting will take place on Feb. 12 at Bengaluru, during which the CM will spell out the proposals sent by the DCs and ZP CEOs of all districts.

Mysore/Mysuru: The State Unit of the BJP will launch three-day ‘
Jan Sevak’ Conventions in all districts from tomorrow (Jan. 11).
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, senior BJP leader and former MLC Ashwathnarayan said that the Convention in Mysuru district will take place at Kalamandira, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa at 11 am tomorrow (Jan. 11).
State BJP Chief Nalin Kumar Kateel, Vice-President M. Rajendra, District Minister S.T. Somashekar, Revenue Minister R. Ashoka, MP Pratap Simha and other top leaders will be present, he said.
Maintaining that the BJP has given importance to grassroots level elections too, he said that the BJP had organised Gram Swaraj conventions focussing on GP polls.
