Twas the Night Before COVID-Christmas

we all had our masks on, including our mouse.
The stockings were hung, but the only real mystery
Was when this pandemic would ever be history.
The children were socially distanced in beds
while visions of viruses danced in their heads.
And Mama, with washed hands, and I with Purell
had just settled in for this strange, new hell
Of Christmas-by-Zoom, when, to my consternation,
I sprang up we d forgotten the ventilation.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.
The hospitals all overflowed, I suppose
