COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today
reported 3,170 new Covid-19 cases, while a record-high number of patients are
critically ill.
Selangor and Kuala Lumpur still had the highest number of cases,
but together only accounted for 35.4 percent of the new cases.
This was because 11 other states also reported triple-digit
cases today.
There has also been a surge in cases in Perak, with 245 reported today. The state reported 170 cases yesterday and 135 the day
before. Its previous record was 241 cases on Jan 12.
There were eight imported cases, while the remaining 3,162 were locally transmitted. Of the local cases, 78.3 percent involved Malaysian

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 3,170 Covid-19 cases and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 2,490 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 130,152.
In a press conference, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 172,549.

There are 41,755 active cases with 260 patients being treated in intensive care, of which 103 require respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the 12 deaths bring the number of fatalities to 642.
The 12 deaths all involved Malaysians. Four of them were from Johor, three from Selangor, two from Sabah and one each from Negeri Sembilan, Perak and Sarawak.
