By Tom Orde Crime and court reporter Predatory and opportunistic chef tried to rape woman in her sleep A PREDATORY and opportunistic sex offender attempted to rape a woman as she slept. Amro Badawi has been jailed for 13 years following a sexual assault in a flat above a Southampton restaurant. Facing three charges, the 28-year-old was found guilty of attempted rape and sexual assault by penetration following a five day trial at Southampton Crown Court in December. Badawi, of Mandela Way, Southampton, who had been working as a chef at the time of the incident, was found not guilty of a single count of rape.
