PHUKET: The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned residents in Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun to brace for heavy weather as a large storm front moves in from the east.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the severe depression over the northern Andaman Sea is expected to build into a cyclonic storm on Tuesday and pass the Thandwe coast in the early hours of Wednesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday invoked the yellow code warning for Andaman and Nicobar Islands as rainfall lashed parts of the islands while the depression over north Andaman Sea is set to turn first into a deep depression and then into cyclonic storm Asani on Monday.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to experience heavy rain and strong winds on Monday as depression over the Bay of Bengal approaches towards North, said India Meteorological Department Scientist R K Janamani.
