Behind Closed Doors - Combating Domestic Violence in the South Asian Community. Domestic violence is a global issue affecting people across national boundaries, socio-economic status, cultural, racial, and class distinctions.It is pervasive in the South Asian community and can occur in psychological, social, physical, sexual, and financial forms. We partner with Manavi, a community based organization that provides culturally and linguistically specific support services to the South Asian Population in New Jersey, to examine this issue and how we can combat it.
