Manalapan zoners approve Route 33 self-storage facility MANALAPAN – A self-storage facility will be constructed on Route 33 following an approval from the Manalapan Zoning Board of Adjustment. During a meeting on April 15, Manalapan Land Holdings, LLC, proposed to construct a self-storage facility at 200 Madison Ave., off Route 33. The applicant sought preliminary and final major site plan approval with bulk variances, which were granted in a 7-0 vote by board members following testimony from professionals who represented the applicant. Attorney Peter G. Licata represented Manalapan Land Holdings, which was seeking a conditional use variance and other relief to construct an 87,320-square-foot, two-story self-storage facility with outdoor vehicle and/or RV/camper parking areas.

Yum & Chill TB Holdings, LLC, is proposing to demolish a Shell gas and service station at the corner of Route 9 south and Taylors Mills Road and to construct a Taco Bell. Initial testimony regarding the Taco Bell was presented during the board’s July 16 meeting and additional testimony from representatives of the applicant and from members of the public have been heard on various dates since that initial meeting.

Distribution center application knocked down by Manalapan planners Distribution center application knocked down by Manalapan planners MANALAPAN – The proposed construction of two buildings on Route 33 in Manalapan that would have been used as a distribution center for various products was halted by a unanimous Planning Board vote on Dec. 10. A distribution center was defined as a location where goods and materials may be stored and then distributed to retailers and wholesalers, but not to the end users of the products being distributed (i.e., not a parcel distribution location). Countryside Developers Inc. proposed to construct the Manalapan Logistics Center on an 86-acre property on Route 33 just east of Pegasus Boulevard. The two buildings were proposed at 294,560 square feet and 302,250 square feet in size.
