MEXICO Voters Tuesday approved all articles in a $3.29 million 2021-22 town budget, according to Town Clerk Tami Vradenburgh.
Town Manager Raquel Welch said the budget is down more than $100,000 from last year. “The mill rate should remain the same.”
One factor in lowering the budget can be found in the highway department. Welch said the town is taking a year off on construction projects, except for some road work on the upper portion of Woodland Avenue.
Citizens voted 55-19 to approve an article to spend up to $110,000 to purchase land for a public safety building. The monies would come out of surplus.

The store keeps a list for larger items such as beds and couches, noting who has them and where they are located. “Then someone can pick them up as opposed to us trying to bring those big items into the store,” she said.
