The Knoxville School Board received the financial report at its most recent meeting. Business Manager Craig Mobley says that despite the challenges of the pandemic, financials are in good shape, and relief funds will be put to use through strategic planning.
“The financial status of the district is looking very good, very comparable to where we’ve been at with the prior four years. Through December, we have spent the first phase of the COVID funds we’ve received, and we’re still building plans for the second relief funds that were approved by the federal government in December. Our allocation for that is just over $1 million, and we’re still working on a plan for that. We have until December 2023 to spend those funds. We’re trying to make sure that we’re strategic with those funds and spending them wisely.”
